The world of CBD, Hemp flower, and the benefits of both can be foreign or even confusing if you are unfamiliar with their origin. Since we have found many benefits from hemp flower extract, we decided to discuss those benefits. We will also break down the details to better explain the products linked to both.
What is CBD?
Cannabidiol is a well-known natural remedy for a variety of diseases. CBD, or Cannabidiol, is one of over 100 chemical components known as cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant.
THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) is the major psychoactive cannabinoid present in cannabis. It generates the high sensation that is commonly associated with cannabis. CBD, unlike THC, is not psychoactive.
Because of this, CBD is an enticing choice for those seeking relief from pain and other ailments without the psychoactive effects of cannabis. It’s also preferable due to the negative effects associated with some pharmaceutical medicines.
CBD oil is extracted Cannabidiol from the Cannabis Sativa plant (or flower) and diluting it with any carrier oil like hemp seed oil or coconut oil. CBD can be available in various goods, including drinks, dietary supplements, food, and bath soaks online and in stores.
What is hemp flower?
Hemp flower, like the CBD flower, are derived from the cannabis plant. Hemp flower contains less THC than CBD flower. The hemp plant contains less than 0.3% THC.
Hemp is a plant grown in the soil. Hemp flower has many benefits. You will want to ensure that your plant is grown in the US; steer clear of international. Do your research on the company’s growing practice. If they can’t tell you about their growing practice, run.
We have researched the hemp flower in depth since we give hemp flower extract to our senior pup, Betty White. We have noticed that it helps with her arthritis symptoms. Check out this great dog cookie recipe using hemp flower extract, which you must try for your pup. Betty White’s love of these cookies makes us thrilled to bake them for her any time of year. She runs to get them in the kitchen. Hemp flower benefits are real!
Hemp flower and CBD are gaining traction in the health and wellness sector due to their benefits. More and more scientific studies suggest that it can help with symptoms of illnesses like chronic pain and anxiety. Is it, however, the best option for you? Let’s dig in more.
What is CBDA+?
We recently noticed CBDA+ and researched the difference is between CBDA+, hemp flowers, CBD flowers, smoking hemp, and just about anything else you can think of.
CBDA+ is similar to Danodan’s product, Gentle. It isn’t heated to the same temperatures as other products. The “A” compound does not break off of the CBD. This is the same for the other cannabinoids in products.
The CBDA+ process
The process of heating to remove the “A” is called decarboxylation. This is why people smoke weed, smoke CBD, or heat up a flower/butter mixture to get high. Danodan’s CBDA+ product has a temperature that would break off that “A” compound.
Research has just begun on this method. So far research has shown it may be helpful for nausea, immune boost, and pain/inflammation response. The + is so the public is aware that Danodan has a full spectrum of compounds, which is why their products work so well.
CBD + Hemp Flower Benefits
Here are some interesting health benefits of CBD oil and Hemp Flower extract. Note, we reference several studies, and our experiences along the way.

Reduce Anxiety and Depression
CBD has the capability to soothe. A study published in the Brazilian Journal of Psychiatry in 2017 examined the anxiety levels of 57 males during a simulated public speaking test.
Study leads gave a placebo to the participants. They gave some participants 150, 300, or 600 mg of CBD before their talks. Participants with 300 mg of CBD had much less anxiety during the exam than those who received a placebo. Participants who received 150 or 600 mg of CBD experienced more anxiety during this test than those who got 300 milligrams.
Meanwhile, at least one mouse study found CBD to have effects that are almost the same as the antidepressant imipramine. Human experiments must be conducted. These studies determine if CBD generates the same antidepressant response in our bodies.
Relieve Unmanageable Pain
Sativex, an oromucosal spray containing equal parts THC and CBD, was licensed for the treatment of central neuropathic pain related to multiple sclerosis in Canada in 2005. In 2007, Canada approved the drug’s usage for cancer pain that had not responded to previous drugs.
Meanwhile, ongoing research in the United States indicates that CBD is helpful in combating chronic, non-cancer pain. In one 2020 study, researchers applied CBD topically to a group of individuals with symptomatic peripheral neuropathy (a result of nerve loss in the brain and spinal cord), whereas another group with the same illness received a placebo.
When compared to the placebo group, those who applied topical CBD had a major decrease in acute, sharp aches and chilly, stinging sensations. There were no negative side effects reported by participants.
When CBD oil is used topically, it does not have the same effect as if it were injected into the bloodstream directly. It is similar to consuming CBD though. Topical CBD, on the other hand, is more localized and helps to reduce pain in a specific area. It may have a more noticeable effect because it is more direct.
Our experience with relieving pain
We have mentioned in another post on CBD that we use Danodan Hemp Flower Infusion– a daily supplement of CBD when we have headaches. We have both found that using the tincture, under our tongue, or in our coffee, has the ability to help alleviate pain or stress.
Reduce PTSD Symptoms
In a modest 2018 trial published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, 11 persons with PTSD received CBD in addition to normal psychiatric care for 8 weeks in an outpatient psychiatric clinic. Ten of the eleven participants reported a reduction in their PTSD symptoms. According to the researchers, using CBD was typically well accepted.
Margaret Rajnic, a doctor of nursing practice who has worked with medical cannabis and CBD, highlights the need to combine therapy with any cannabis or CBD for PTSD. “There is a certain level of therapy required for PTSD,” she explains. “However, CBD will give you a slight reduction in anxiety.”
More human trials regarding PTSD symptoms
Four more human trials between 2012 and 2016 demonstrate that CBD lowers PTSD symptoms. However, some of them include THC, the major mind-altering component in cannabis. When THC and CBD interact, they create an “entourage effect,” which means they complement each other’s benefits and potency.
For example, consuming the same dose of CBD and THC together reduces the “high” from THC, whereas a small amount of THC combined with greater CBD increases the CBD’s benefits.
Alleviate ALS Symptoms
ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a disease that causes degeneration of nerve cells in the spinal cord and brain, resulting in progressive muscular control loss. The specific cause of ALS is unknown, though it may be genetic in some cases. There is no known cure, and only two FDA-approved drugs are available to help manage ALS symptoms.
According to research, persons with ALS, like people with PTSD, can benefit from the ambient effect caused by the combination of CBD and THC. In a 2019 study, individuals were given varying amounts of THC and CBD based on their requirements and preferences.
Those suffering from severe, mild, or moderate spasticity (muscle tightness and stiffness) as a result of ALS reported a high degree of satisfaction with the treatment, with those suffering from moderate to severe spasticity reporting higher levels of satisfaction than those suffering from mild spasticity.
Protect Against Neurological Disease
CBD possesses antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, according to clinical and preclinical research. These qualities, according to researchers, can give protection against a variety of clinical illnesses or significant neuroprotection.
Several preclinical studies indicate that CBD may be beneficial in the management of Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and multiple sclerosis. Cerebral ischemia and Huntington’s disease were also investigated, but no substantial positive outcomes were found. More clinical research is needed to validate CBD’s effectiveness as a therapy for various illnesses.
Inhibit Arthritis Symptoms
Arthritis is characterized by the degeneration of the tissues in and around the joints. Arthritis is classified into numerous forms, and symptoms include stiffness, loss of motion, and pain. Pain reduction and increased joint function are usually the goals of arthritis treatment.
Compared to a placebo, a 2006 study indicated that Sativex—a CBD-based botanical medication licensed in the UK in 2010—promoted statistically significant advancements in pain during movement, quality of sleep, and pain at rest in rheumatoid arthritis patients.
With 58 patients, it was the first controlled experiment of Sativex as a therapy for rheumatoid arthritis. CBD was discovered to have anti-inflammatory properties as well as the capacity to decrease disease activity. The benefits of hemp flower regarding arthritis is a subject that is personal to us.
Our CBD recommendation for arthritis
CBD and hemp flower companies are not allowed to talk about their products being a cure or reducing symptoms, so I will tell you about my experience and benefits. Also, again, please note that we are not doctors, nor are we giving medical advice.
A year or so ago, I noticed that the cold had a big impact on my hands. The winters can be pretty tough on the pain that I have, especially after my morning walks with Betty White.
The best product I have used for pain/inflammation response is Danodan Recovery. The base of the CBD product is Enhanced, and there are added botanicals of willow bark (an awesome supplement for pain), ginger, and turmeric. I use this Recovery after my morning winter walks or hikes.
Though it is not how the brand recommends you use it, I have begun to use it topically, putting it directly on my hands, under gloves, before going out on cold walks. It seems to be helping.
Of course, as mentioned, Betty White uses Danodan Hemp Flower Infusion for Pets. We feel that her arthritis symptoms seem to be alleviated by the product.
Wrapping up
CBD oil, hemp flower, or the combo of both have been researched for their possible involvement in alleviating symptoms of various common health issues, including neurological diseases and anxiety. Furthermore, it may boost heart health and aid in the relief of certain types of discomfort.
CBD research into the impact on specific illnesses is ongoing, and there is still a lot to learn about the possible benefits of CBD and hemp flower.
If you want to take CBD to control a health problem or improve your overall health, consult with a healthcare practitioner first. They can advise you on whether incorporating a CBD product into your regimen is acceptable and assist you in selecting the optimal product.
Be sure you do your research when shopping for the best hemp flower/CBD product. We have learned that not all CBD is CBD. You can read more about that here.

Danodan grows its hemp flower in Oregon. Do your research on where your CBD or hemp flower products are made and how they are made.
Speaking from experience, we don’t like the taste of it either. We often will place the oil under our tongue, let it dissolve, or add it to our coffee or tea.
We cannot speak for everyone, but no. CBD oil can make you feel calm, but the effects are not at all like smoking or consuming marijuana.
