As we perused through the thousands of Photowall murals, we knew that we had found the right place to bring our personality to our home. Small spaces have multiple personalities and we like it that way. Photowall helped give our room more character and we are thrilled with the result!

When you live in a small home, your rooms become flexible spaces. Those spaces need to be flexible and have multipurpose uses. Our home has two bedrooms. The second bedroom, if you want to even call it that, is used for a multitude of purposes. It’s Betty White’s relaxation room and play space. It is our home office. The room is also The Arner Adventures Podcast studio. Music is played and made in this space. Guests also sleep in this room as it is converted to a guest room when they visit. Since getting creative in this room is a running theme, we wanted one of the walls to be an accent wall of sorts. What better way to make it pop than with a wall mural!? Photowall murals came in to save the day! Not really, we felt that vibe.

We absolutely adore our graffiti art accent wall.

How Photowall Murals Can Transform Your Space

People and their rooms can often be a spiritual connection. Similar to your home, even your room can be your sanctuary. You want it to be functional, but also feel a certain way. You want it to have positive energy, a flow.

No matter your design taste, Photowall will be able to accommodate. If you want a vintage French map for your office, they have it. If you want to wallpaper your bar area of the kitchen with drink maps from Belgium, they will have it. There are collections for children. Collections focus on nature themes, animals, astronomy, religion, and sports, just to suggest a few. There are even wall murals that can focus on any country you’d like. You just pick one.

Inspiration

If you want to be inspired, you can visit the Photowall website and click on the area for Instagram inspiration and see what other people have done, like our Photowall mural project. Not only can you shop from Photowall murals and wallpaper, but you can also upload your own artwork and have them print your design on wallpaper or on their Photowall mural panels for you.

Photowall has thousands of pieces of wall art to choose from that reflect your personality. We love that our space reflects ours. We are Jean-Michel Basquiat fans. Photowall offers a plethora of graffiti art murals to choose from. The most difficult part of this whole process was choosing which of the Photowall murals to hang on our accent wall.

What was the Photowall ordering process?

Once we chose our piece, then the rest of the ordering process was easy. You enter the dimensions of the space, so you don’t want to go wrong here. Photowall scales their murals to the size of the space of their customers from the dimensions you give them. You are the provider of the information. Remember that! Photowall advises that you add 2.5-4 inches for margin of error. Next, you will crop the image to fit your space. If you chose a piece of artwork and the scale of the artwork is more horizontal than your space, you will lose some of the art, unfortunately. The positive side is that you get to choose what part you get to keep on your wall. The last step is that you choose the wallpaper quality- standard or premium.

Your image will arrive in panel rolls with instructions on how to apply the wallpaper. There may be some tools you need, but if you run on the bare minimum of items like we do, you will still be fine. We are newbies, but we completed the wall in about half a day. Photowall provides great information in their packaging. Do not be fearful of the wallpaper process. It is not the wallpaper process of the past if you are old enough to remember that.

Why we chose Photowall

We loved our experience with Photowall, not only because we were able to bring our personality to our home, and our creative space, but because the company’s values align with ours. Photowall has strong beliefs surrounding its environmental impact, and its environmental approach. They want people to be able to make their rooms special but not affect the climate in doing so. Photowall only produces what is needed for an order. Nothing is held on stock nor wasted. The printing ink Photowall uses for their murals and wallpapers contains no solvents or hazardous chemicals, and is biodegradable.

The response

We have already had a few virtual meetings and recorded a handful of podcasts since the installation. Our mural is our background.

People are very intrigued as to what the backdrop is and want to discuss the artwork, more specifically, graffiti art. We then continue to get into the conversation about Photowall murals and their wallpaper process. People love the idea of making their space their own, no matter what size it is.

When you have the ability to bring your personality to your space, you thrive, especially as a creator. We love the vibe that our Photowall mural creates, not only for us, but for those who now see it virtually, and those who visit the space in real life. You always want your space to reflect your vibe- I mean, didn’t we show that with the Rainbow Egg Chair suggestions?

Being art fans, it is great to see that Photowall works with artists and designers from all over the world. Not only do you get to choose from pieces that are familiar to you, but when you browse through the collections of artwork, you get to choose from original pieces that are designed by artists who have collections within Photowall. You can read about that artist’s story, where they are from, his/her background, and story. You can then choose from that specific artist’s collection if you choose to.

Our takeaway

Overall, we are thrilled with our experience with Photowall. We’re in love with our Photowall mural, and the vibe it gives us in our room. The process was super easy and the finished product was tailored for us, and our space. We definitely have positive energy and the flow that we desired is there. That is thanks to Photowall.

How long did it take to put up your Photowall mural?

We had 6 panels and it took us about half a day, so approximately 4-5 hours. Once we got going, our pace picked up and it got faster.

Did you make mistakes and are they easy to correct?

We made some errors and we corrected them pretty quickly but the advantage to having graffiti art as your mural is that it is very difficult to notice mistakes. 🙂

Is installing the Photowall mural or wallpaper messy?

No. It’s very simple. We used an old sheet to put underneath but we’ve painted and made WAY bigger messes than this was.

I like how you mentioned that a business can showcase what they are about with a mural as well as how a mural can motivate employees on a daily basis. I think that a business should try and capture their style and motto in a mural in order to properly motivate the workers. If everyone can get behind this then it would be even more effective at representing the business in a good way. Thanks for the list of benefits for having a mural in an office space.
