This week, we are getting into the heart of Mental Minimalism – because let’s face it, our minds could use a bit of spring cleaning too.

We will explore the seven things that need an eviction notice from your headspace. Get ready for some mind-refreshing insights and some mental tidying.

Mental Minimalism- Discussion Topics

  • We go through the top 7 things you stop allowing to take up your headspace
  • Stop worrying about the things we cannot control.
  • Activities you don’t enjoy right now. We change, and our interests change.
  • You can learn from the past but the past is not going to change. Stop focusing on it so much.
  • Ideal partner: stop believing what you see in movies that love is perfect. It takes work. We have to love ourselves first.
  • Perfectionism- we put too much pressure on ourselves. We have to begin to slow down, live slower, and be in each moment while they are here. Moments are not perfect. They are moments.
  • Toxic friendship or family- no need to allow the negative relationships to take up space in your mind or your heart.
  • The criticism- we are more critical of ourselves than anyone else is. We have to change the way we talk to ourselves.

Hi, we’re Shannon and Gerry Arner, the couple behind Arner Adventures. After burnout pushed us to rethink how we were living, we sold our business, our home, and most of our belongings to make more room for intentional travel, simple living, and everyday adventures. Since 2017, we’ve written and published more than 1,000 articles covering travel, minimalism, wellness, sustainability, and building an online business. Everything we write comes from our firsthand experiences and the lessons we’ve learned along the way. Our goal is to share honest, practical information that helps others live with less clutter and more intention.
