UPDATED 2025 Front of the Pack Review: We find that it is extremely important to be as authentic and honest as possible with our readers. As of December 2022, Betty White stopped taking these supplements. We also stopped the Front of the Pack treats. She was given the opportunity to try the food that Front of the Pack was promoting as a new product.
She became sick after we began gently integrating it into her diet. As you will read below, she has a very sensitive stomach, and though the food did not work out for her, she no longer wanted any of the FOTP products. You may have a different experience, but we wanted to add this disclaimer since we have been contacted about this product and our thoughts on the FOTP food since this blog post was published.
As of 2025, people continue to message us about our Front of the Pack Review. It is updated and we still do not recommend their products.
May 1, 2022- Initial Trial of Front of the Pack
Betty White here, the pup that is. Mom and Dad allowed me to take a turn at blogging since this blog post is really all about me. Most things are about me in our household, but I digress.
I was invited to be a member of the pack, Front of the Pack. Before I became a member of Front of the Pack, Mom and Dad wanted to make sure it was the best decision for me. Not only are they the best pet parents around, but I have several health and physical issues. They wanted to make sure that the ingredients in Front of the Pack’s supplements aligned with those issues, and our values as a family.
Below is the initial Front of the Pack review, but includes new things. When changing your dog’s food, always do it incrementally and know that is it in the best interests of all involved to not force a food issue if it doesn’t work.
While Front of the Pack may offer a full refund if you are not happy pet parents (dependent upon the days of purchase lapse), ours was complimentary. We did reach out to the FOTP team letting them know that the food caused Betty White digestive issues. They asked us to let them know about any positive improvements. We did not see any, so we stopped all food and the daily dog supplement powder. We also discontinued any use of the anxiety relief supplements.

Introduction to Front of the Pack
As you can imagine, we get a lot of brands sending us things to try. As much as I want to dig into them, Mom and Dad don’t just let me have them. I have a sensitive stomach, and some ingredients just aren’t good for me. A lot of you know that I am a rescued pup. I had a rough start.
Due to that, my bones did not form the way that they should have, so now that I am in my golden years, I have more arthritis than most pups. Not only that, but I also have some liver enzyme issues that we have to monitor. You know they say when you get older, all you talk about is your health issues. Here we go!
When Front of the Pack reached out to mom and dad, offering assistance to me for some of my health issues, mom and dad did some digging into their products.
Front of the Pack Says They Are Backed By Science
When we read that the brand’s clinical trial and approval team was made up of a team of veterinarians and scientists, we felt comfortable. These people are the ones who work on the supplements to tackle the health problems that each supplement is meant to help with.
The Front of the Pack website is transparent with its science. There is an 8-step supplement testing framework. Have you ever heard of anything like that in the pet food industry? We haven’t. This is the section mom spent a lot of time reading, and she was very happy.
Front of the Pack claims that every ingredient is backed by trusted research. In fact, on the website, there are studies available for the ingredients that are in the supplements, claiming how/why they work. This made mom and dad comfortable giving Front of the Pack a try.

Why Does It Matter?
Speaking from a pup who loves to eat, my mom and dad are really picky about what I put into my mouth. Here are some things that they wanted me to share with you about the canine industry:
- 50% rise in gut problems over the past 5 years
- 1 in 4 vet visits is for a skin complaint
- 1 in 3 dogs is now clinically obese
- 66% rise in arthritis over the past decade
- 1 in 3 dogs suffers from canine anxiety
- 80% of dogs have dental disease by age 3
Unfortunately, similar to human health, a lot of brands including premium dog foods, take advantage of reacting to problems rather than trying to prevent them.
Front of the Pack Gives Back
The next thing that mom and dad loved was that Front of the Pack is a partner with Best Friends Animal Society and supports rescues with each purchase. Front of the Pack is also committed to making the nation’s shelters no-kill by 2025. This is an important part of our family’s value since I am a rescued pup and we as a family advocate for adopting and rescuing pets.
Note– this was the case back in 2022, but we are unsure if the brand is still aligned with Best Friends Animal Society.
The Trial Process of Front of the Pack
When the package arrived from Front of the Pack, I was really excited! Mom already told me that I was going to be able to try the products, so my mouth was watering. My starter package included the following:
- The One
- Harmony
- Soothe
- Move
- Wild Alaskan Salmon Treats
- Farm Raised Rabbit Treats
All of the supplements can be sprinkled on my food, so it’s not like I have to take a pill. Yay for Mom, because she really gets a lot of anxiety about having to hide a pill in something. I always find it and spit it out. I’m as smart as I am pretty.
Note: these products were in their lineup at the time we started the trial of Front of the Pack. We have noticed that some have been discontinued.
FOTP Products Betty White Tried
Mom started me with Move and The One. Then, she integrated Soothe. We have used Harmony as needed. Of course, the treats are used when I am a good girl, or after our walks and stroller rides.

The One
We think of The One as a daily multivitamin for people. It is a great way for me to get benefits in one supplement. It tackles eight essential benefits in one supplement. Front of the Pack claims this supplement helps:
- Relieve Hip & Joint Stiffness
- Alleviate Stress & Anxiety
- Support Healthy Digestion
- Soothe Itchy Skin & Allergies
- Freshen Breath & Reduce Plaque
- Promote Mental Sharpness
- Support Immune Health
- Maintain Healthy Heart Function
Move
Move targets joint and mobility support, so this is the one that we were all most hopeful for. It has glucosamine and chondroitin, which are in a lot of supplements for arthritis, but Front of the Pack claims this supplement:
- Promotes healthy cartilage growth
- Cushions aging hips and joints
- Relieves stiffness and discomfort
Harmony
I’ve never had too much stress on car rides, but I do get some anxiety on longer ones, so mom gave me the Harmony packets on a recent long car ride. Bonus, I didn’t have to have it with any food because I really liked the taste of it! We didn’t notice anything different from taking this supplement. Front of the Pack claims this supplement helps to:
- Moderates stress
- Promotes a state of calm
- Relieves stiffness and comfort
Soothe
After a couple of weeks, Mom started integrating Soothe. She was nervous about my stomach with the new changes and since I was doing well, she added the additional supplement. Soothe targets itch and gut support. I don’t have itchy issues, but I do have a lot of gut health issues, so this is right up my alley. This supplement claims it:
- Soothes & nourishes dry, itchy skin
- Supports healthy gut function
- Promotes healthy immune response

2025 Wrap-Up of our FOTP Experience
As much as we want to find the best for our furry companions, sometimes the journey takes unexpected turns. While Betty had a positive experience with Front of the Pack’s supplements, her reaction to their food reminded us of the importance of authenticity in our recommendations. Hopefully, your dog’s diet will have amazing health benefits if you decide to give FOTP a try.
We believe in transparency and honesty, which is why we felt it necessary to share our full experience, including the lack of follow-up from the company when we decided to discontinue use. It seems like it would have been the perfect opportunity for their team of vets to reach out to us. They never did, and neither did their friendly team members.
Every dog is unique, and what works for one may not work for another. While our experience may not be the same as yours, we encourage all pet parents to do their due diligence when selecting products for their beloved companions. These products include any food, but in this case, FOTP air-dried food and any new supplement. Consider factors like how the food may affect your pup’s digestive system, the quality of ingredients used, your pup’s immune system, and whether any artificial additives are present.
After all, our ultimate goal is the same: healthy, happy pets. So, whether it’s Front of the Pack or any other brand, always do your research to ensure your furry friend gets the best care possible. The suitability of this product cannot be truly known of how it will affect your dog unless you try it for yourself. A clinical study can give you an idea of the potential benefits.
